CONTACT ME

Who can commission music? ANYONE! In addition to commissions by individual performers, and various sized ensembles, I’ve been commssioned by the Dallas Contemporary Art Museum, Oregon State Parks, the US Forest Service and more. Collaborating with your vision to create a piece of music is one of my favorite aspects of composing! Creating a unique piece is rewarding for both you and audiences in your hometown or globally.

How does it work? Just contact me! Budgets can be flexible and various forms of funding sources exist. Many variables, such the length, the instrumentation, and the scope and essence of the piece can affect its cost. Commissioning Music: A Basic Guide, https://www.newmusicusa.org/about/resources/ is a downloadable resource. Consortium commissioning can lower the cost considerably and enables each patron/ensemble with credit for commissioning the work while providing a wider range of audience performances.

Engraving, editing, and printing professional scores with individual parts are included. MP3 demos and virtual rehearsals can help the performers present a performance you’ll be proud of.

Music can connect people in ways beyond notes on a page. By nature, I’m an Explorer and that innate curiousity infuses everything I do, including composing. I really enjoy working with students and ensembles via in person or virtual residencies, rehearsals, workshops and presentations.

I’m a thoughtful composer and create with intention – largely at the intersection of landscape and culture on music, curation, visioning and creative connections. Workshops include: educational and compositional practices as well as interactive sessions with musicians on curation, connection and engagement.

Connecting to the Wider World is designed to help create a lens through which composers, performers and conductors can choose and perform works that can connect with and engage audiences on a socially meaningful level.
